When crafting the food and beverage experience at The Morrow, we knew we'd need to curate a dynamic offering every bit as welcoming, elegant, and destination-worthy as the property itself. Each of our concepts are led by celebrity chef and tv personality Marcus Samuelsson, D.C.'s 2025 Rising Chef of the Year Anthony Jones, and critically acclaimed pastry chef Rachel Sherriffe.
By celebrated Chef and restauranteur Marcus Samuelsson, Marcus DC blends modern American cooking with Black culinary traditions from D.C. to Ethiopia, and beyond. Inspired by heritage, the seasons, and a sense of place, the menu features mambo-sauced roast chicken, grilled whole bass, and dry-aged tomahawk steak. Swediopian, a dish of cured salmon, goldenberry broth, fennel and a teff crisp, mirrors Saumelsson's birthplace and the land where he was raised. Executive Chef Anthony Jones, a true Marlyander, brings his own story with dishes like Mel's Crab Rice with early summer mushroom, hot sauce pickled okra, and uni béarnaise, an ode to his favorite crab shack in Calvert County.
